Henry Hamre

Henry Hamre has served as an Assistant Band Director at Cypress Ranch High School since the fall of 2024, where he conducts the Symphonic Band, directs the Jazz Ensemble, and assists with the Marching Band.

Originally from Flower Mound, TX, Mr. Hamre graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He studied French horn with Robert Johnson. While at UH, Mr. Hamre performed with the Symphony Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and the Wind Ensemble. He was also a member of the Spirit of Houston Marching Band, where he served as Drum Major. Mr. Hamre graduated from Marcus High School in 2020, and was a member of the Marcus Band for all four years of high school, where he also served as Drum Major.

His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA).
