Alex Denton

Alex Denton has served as Director of Bands at Cypress Ranch High School since 2019. Previously, he was an Assistant Band Director for six years at Langham Creek High School. Ensembles under Mr. Denton’s direction have received numerous awards, including Superior ratings in UIL Concert & Sightreading and appearances at the UIL State Marching Competition. 

Mr. Denton received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music in 2013, where he studied French horn with Gavin Reed. He was a member of The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2008-2010. His mentors include Eddie Green, Gloria Ramirez, John Benzer, Tom Bennett, and David Bertman.

His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA).
